TESTS ON EMBEDDED STEEL BILLETS FOR PRECAST CONCRETE BEAM-COLUMN CONNECTIONS
Sixty specimens were tested, each consisting of a short length of column with a single steel billet cast into it. The variables involved were the size of the billet, the reinforcement details and the column load. The results are compared with current design methods based solely on concrete bearing capacity. An improved design method is proposed which makes allowance for the reinforcement.(a) /TRRL/
