LAUNCHING DEVICE FOR PLACING PRECAST ELEMENTS OVER PIERS AND ABUTMENTS

The paper describes a simple arrangement of trusses and rollers that can be used in bridge and aqueduct construction to launch precast, prestressed girders across piers. Designed specifically to overcome the weakness of limited load-carrying capacity and unrequired, for Indian condition, sophisticated adjustments of presently-used equipment, the device can be used for reinforced construction as well.(a) /TRRL/
