BENDIX ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM
The article describes a Bendix electronic anti-lock brake control system which uses standard brake actuators and reservoir units. Intended for air-braked vehicles, the system actuates an air pressure modulator to reduce applied braking effort just short of wheel lock. The system monitors a vehicle's speed by means of a propshaft or wheel-mounted exciter and can be operated on a 12 V or 24 V system. The electronic circuit incorporates wheel control logic claimed to give smooth stopping performance in all conditions. /TRRL/
