STANDARDIZATION OF SUBSTATIONS, SWITCHING STATIONS, AND PARALLELING POINTS FOR ELECTRIC TRACTION OF THE WEST GERMAN RAILROAD SYSTEM

NORMIERUNG VON UNTERWERKEN, SCHALTPOSTEN UND KUPPELSTELLEN FUER DIE ELEKTRISCHE ZUGFOERDERUNG DER DEUTSCHEN BUNDESBAHN

Guidelines for the design and appropriate standardization of electric power supply facilities for electric railroads are considered from the viewpoint of both present as well as future demands. The basic circuits of 110-kv-and 15-kv installations are normalized so that the number of units to be added can be substantially reduced. The basic design and total arrangement of a substation plant are extensively normalized and the characteristics of the main components standardized. Auxiliary attachments, control assemblies and protective gear equipment are included in this concept of normalization.
