Planning travel
This article looks at the concept of planning travel to save on energy emissions and hence be more environmentally friendly. A web based tool, named YETI (Yearly Emissions from Travel Information) has been developed by JMP Consulting, it can measure the carbon footprint of an organisation's travel use. Various trials are identified and more are planned in the future, however, it is acknowledged the tool does have its limitations as there are flaws in the data available as it is based on top level assumptions. It is pointed out that with the new interest in green issues, carbon foot printing could provide a new lease of life for travel plans.
