THE ATTENUATION OF TRAFFIC NOISE BY BARRIERS, 1967
This bibliography has been limited to the use of various types of barrier for the attenuation of road traffic noise rather than details of its measurement. Excluded are references to measures combating noise at source (e.g. car silencers, re-routing of lorries etc.) and at the receiver (e.g. sound insulation of dwellings). Barriers are loosely defined as any obstacles including vegetation, between the noise source and its recipient and for this reason are taken to mean techniques of road design such as cuttings, as well as noise screens and barriers.(a) /TRRL/
