JUST HOW SERIOUS WAS THE SANTA BARBARA OIL SPILL
Preliminary findings of a biological survey carried out in the Santa Barbara Channel to assess the effects on marine life ( biota ) of crude oil liberated in the vicinity of Union Oil Cos Platform A indicate that, with the exception of birdlife, ecological damage by the oil spillage appeared to be very light.
