INFLUENCE OF RETARDERS WITH A SECONDARY PLASTICIZING EFFECT ON THE PROPERTIES OF RETARDED GRAVEL-CEMENT MIXTURES

INFLUENCE DES RETARDATEURS A EFFET SECONDAIRE PLASTIFIANT SUR LES PROPRIETES DES GRAVES-CIMENT RETARDEES

The authors describe the results obtained in the laboratory with an admixture which combines a plasticizing and a retarding effect, thus making compaction easier. This, in turn, enables a higher state of compaction to be obtained or the compaction moisture content to be reduced. The ultimate strength of the gravel-cement is increased, this increase being partly explained by the decrease in the water/cement ratio. The addition of the plasticizing retarder also modifies the distribution of voids in the mortar. These results must be checked on sites. /TRRL/
