Simulation-Aided Airport Terminal
This paper presents the application of simulation techniques to the design of the New Curacao Airport Terminal. The purpose of the simulation is to confirm that the design will meet of exceed International Air Transport Association (IATA) Level of Service C (LOS C) planning standards during period of peak activity during the design day. The simulation model is a dynamic, object-oriented passenger movement analysis tool. The model is driven by a realistic flight schedule developed for a 24-hour design day, thereby providing passenger volumes and flows that reflect the arrival and departure of aircraft and passengers over the course of an entire day.
