Non-Railroad-Owned Freight Cars: Issues and Compensation Practices
This paper creates awareness about certain increasingly important issues of railroad car supply, namely, issues surrounding the providing and usage of non-railroad-owned freight cars. The paper discusses the increasing usage of these cars for rail transportation, and compares schemes for their supply and use. The issues of ownership cost compensation trends for these cars are also addressed.
