Status Report on the Use of Wheelchairs and Other Mobility Devices on Public and Private Transportation

Wheelchair and power scooter designs have changed since the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. This report describes public transit usage - both fixed routes and private paratransit services - by wheelchair users; discusses the evaluation of securement points; and details significant industry standards, regulations, and public transit practices and policies regarding wheelchair transit riders.
