NEW EUROPEAN VIEWS ON SNOW AND ICE CONTROL DEVELOPMENT
In Europe developments in the winter maintenance field seen to be similar to those in U.S.A. and economic aspects still ask attention. Decreasing spreading rates, use of slush ploughs, and anti-skid bituminous surfaces that prevent or retard black ice formation are mentioned. Large field trials in spreading Cacl2 solution instead of solid NaCl or Cacl2 are reported as is some progress in black ice prediction. /Author/
