Tiehallinnon tutkimus ja kehittaminen 2007. Vuosijulkaisu

The Finnish Road Administration (FINNRA) Research and Development programme is based on a policy approved on 27 March 2006. Funding in 2007 totalled 4 million euros. The following are the focal points for Research and Development in 2007: 1) Needs of customer segments 2) Eco-efficient and safe traffic system 3) Traffic management and Smart Traffic programmes 4) Traffic system economy 5) Co-operative programmes 6) Road management sector tasks. Strategic Project S13: VAHA Research Programme for Impact Management of Finnish Road Management has concluded. The final thematic report was published in February 2008. The "Needs of customer segments" theme research programme concluded in the autumn of 2007. A final report on the research programme was drafted and a concluding seminar was held on 6 September 2007. The final re-search programme report was completed in 2008. The "Eco-efficient and safe traffic system" theme research programme is slated to run during 2006-2009. The "Traffic management" research programme (2005-2007) concluded in the autumn of 2007. A new Traffic management research programme began in June of 2007 and will run during 2007-2010. A majority of the programme's projects will be included in the administrative "Smart Traffic" development programme and Easyway/Viking programme, which has applied for EU TEN-T funding. The "Co-operative programmes" theme placed an emphasis on national co-operation, international co-operation and the development of national and international co-operation. The "Sector tasks" theme research programme is slated to run during 2006-2009. The three-year "Traffic system economy" theme research programme was initiated in the autumn of 2007. Road districts conducted joint regional research and development projects and participated in FINNRA research and development projects. Road districts participated in the completion of dissertations, theses and final project work at institutes of higher education, universities and vocational schools.
