DISCONTINUOUS DISCHARGE SYSTEMS FIGHT OFF CONTINUOUS UNLOADER CHALLENGE
With continuous discharge systems threatening to erode the grab unloader's share of the market in both higher and lower capacity ranges, manufacturers of bulk unloading gantries are meeting the challenge with uprated designs. Terminals are also improving management techniques to increase average discharge rates to nearer 65 to 70 percent of peak rates compared with around 50 to 55 percent at present. The result is that improved technology has given a renewed lease on life to the proven grabbing system over the new technology of continuous unloader design.
