COMPUTER ANALYSIS OF PILE GROUPS
It is still a common practice for pile groups to be analysed by methods which ignore bending moments induced in the piles by lateral soil resistance. The paper shows that such methods are not suitable where horizontal loads are significant and recommends the use of computer methods of analysis now available, particularly the equivalent frame method by which general frame programs can be used to analyse pile groups. /Author/TRRL/
