QUICK FIX FOR SPALLING PAVEMENT
The author reports how precast concrete slabs showed installation and durability advantages as patching material on a Virginia expressway. The project began with the precasting and stockpiling of the precast slabs. Casting was done on a hydraulic press manufactured for this purpose. The slabs ranged in size from 1 X 2 feet to 2 X 3 feet. All were 2 inches thick.
