SIGMA COATINGS INTRODUCE "ANTIFOULING CL" AT ISPCC 78 IN MONTE CARLO

In the new antifouling system Antifouling CL, developed by Sigma Coatings, the rate of release of the toxin is controlled so that excessive leaching in the early stages of the coating's life is avoided, and the period of effective protection may be extended to two-and-a-half years. The system is designed to be applied directly over high-performance anticorrosive systems and over thin layers of adherent vinyl-copolymer or chlorinated-rubber long-life antifoulings in good condition. It is a two-coat, high-build, long-life system, in which the first coat provides a reservoir of toxin to replenish the antifouling activity of the outer coat; it is particularly well suited for very large ships which may operate at sustained high speeds and quick turn-rounds, as well as at slow speeds with periods of lay-up. Order from BSRA as No. 49,514.
