Regional Rail Plan for the San Francisco Bay Area
The Regional Rail Plan for the San Francisco Bay presents a vision for an integrated and interconnected system for improving and expanding the existing regional rail rapid transit (BART), railroad-based passenger and freight services, and highspeed rail for the region. It examines different ways of incorporating passenger trains into existing rail systems in the Bay Area. It discusses ways for improving connections to other trains and transit, as well as increasing rail capacity. The plan also looks at methods for coordinating rail investment around transit-friendly communities and business. In addition, the plan includes an analysis of potential high-speed rail routes between the Bay Area and Central Valley. offering recommendations for the most promising high-speed rail alignments for Pacheco and Altamont passes.
