The Role of Speed Governors in Truck Safety: Industry Speed Governor Use Survey - Preliminary Analysis
This paper discusses the results of a survey administered to ascertain the use of speed governors in the trucking industry. The survey is part of a study addressing the safety consequences of speed differentials that result from the use of truck speed governors. In addition, the study examines the ideal speed for optimizing safety, fuel efficiency and productivity. The interaction of speed and inclement weather is also discussed.
