FIBRE-REINFORCED CONCRETE: IMPORTANT PARAMETERS, POSSIBILITIES OF MANUFACTURE
BETON DE FIBRES: PARAMETRES IMPORTANTS, POSSIBILITES DE PRODUCTION
After giving a definition of the composite material called fibre-reinforced concrete, the author examines the main characteristics of the fibres to be introduced in the matrix: bulk density, modulus of elasticity, tensile strength and compressive strength. The parameters to be taken into account for obtaining a higher efficiency from the fibre reinforcement are discussed: transverse cross-section, spacing, length, percentage of fibres in the matrix. Guidelines on mixing and vibration are appended. This article is a review of the studies conducted up to the present time. /TRRL/
