FLOATING CAR DATA FOR TRAVEL TIME ESTIMATION
Floating car data has proved promising for measuring and estimating travel times. Many different concepts have been developed and tested. However, most of these concepts have not been commercialized or put into regular operation. Floating car data has not been used in Norway before. A Norwegian system for using floating car data based on taxi is now being developed. The system provides dynamic travel time data for an urban area, which will be implemented in route planning and fleet management systems.
