Broadway Bridge – Creating Art in the Community’s Vision
The Orlando Sentinel calls the Broadway Bridge “Daytona Beach’s newest permanent art exhibit,” because when this unique Florida bridge was dedicated on July 20, 2001, the community realized its dream of a structure to reflect their vision. This paper will describe how the bridge designers brought the participation of the community into the design and created art with structural bridge shapes and aesthetic features to match the community’s selected theme of “timeless, ecology.”
