Light Rail Vehicles in Germany: Accessible for the Elderly and Handicapped
This article focuses on public transportation accessibility options for the physically handicapped and the elderly in Germany. German low-floor light rail car operations are described in the cities of Wurzburg, Kassel, and Bremen, as are low-floor light rail vehicle technical concepts. The VOV low-floor light rail car, developed as part of a plan for an adaptable uniform modular vehicle series, is also discussed.
