Incentive Granting
The scope of this paper is to give a general idea of an incentive granting system. The system was introduced to promote development of cost effective and need aimed transport solutions for mobility handicapped people through local projects. As an introduction, a brief description of how transport for mobility handicapped people is organized and financed in Norway is given. Further, the general purpose grants scheme for distributing governmental grants is explained. The feature of the incentive granting system is outlined, and some general comments as well as results experienced so far are summarized. Some changes in the system will in all likelihood be effective from 1992. The background for and the aim of these changes are discussed.
