The Safety of the Travelling Elderly: The Case of the Ivory Coast

Given some deficiencies related to the degeneration of their physiological capacities, the old people have to cope with specific problems when travelling, whether when walking on public highways or at the level of the various transportation systems. This paper describes the realities and the extent of a phenomenon such as the mobility of the elderly in a country such as the Ivory Coast. Besides, it proposes a beginning for a study of the scope of measures that can be taken as part of the policy of transportation and road safety in this country.
