Is the Population Getting Older or the Pensioners Being Younger?
This paper, concerning the elderly, is based on economic studies and prospects within several developed countries. It points out, for today and in a greater extent, for tomorrow, that the older generations' mobility will exhibit slight differences only when compared to the mobility of the younger ones. On the other side, the elderly's specific needs when taken into account in transport and land use planning can be most profitable in identifying and realizing improvements for the society as a whole.
