Mixed Traffic Flow Analysis for Developing Countries w. s. t. to India
This paper describes how the traffic flow problems are normally correlated to the unprecedented growth of population and vehicle ownership. Although the amount varies from country to country and region to region the trend everywhere is the same. The problem of traffic growth is an engineering problem and it is a result of 3 P’s – progress, prosperity, and personal freedom. Many countries in the developing and the developed worlds do not have the traffic problems because the jobs and housing are assigned and there is no personal freedom. In developing countries the efforts in the analysis of traffic flow are geared around the works of the developed countries; although the problems are rather different and more complex. The result is that the solutions do not properly fit. The most striking aspect of traffic flow in developing countries is because of mixed traffic flow. The data presented in this pape, is an effort to tackle the overall problem in an analytical way and to present the results in a readily available format.
