Managing Urban Transport Planning
Urban transport planning is a method to deal with transportation problems, taking into account well defined goals and the criteria to be met. The purpose of this paper is to identify appropriate management styles. It is assumed that a single management approach is not sufficient but that substantive circumstances determine the selection of an appropriate organization and information requirements. This will be demonstrated by referring to thirty years of transportation planning in the Netherlands and in particular Amsterdam. For this analysis it is further assumed that the chain of aspects has been repeated during the past decade.
