Tokyo Station City
This article provides an overview of the development of Tokyo Station City, which is part of a large-scale plan to revitalize the Tokyo Station area in Japan's economic center. The goal of the plan is to make Tokyo Station the foremost railroad station in the world. The development plan has three major components: the development of twin office/retail towers at one exit and a new office/hotel/conference building at a second exit, and the restoration of the historic Marunouchi station building. The renovated station will combine railroad facilities with a hotel and art gallery. When the development is completed, Tokyo Station City will attract not only railroad passengers, but also shoppers, office workers, hotel visitors, and art lovers.
