Park and Stay Packages Provide Revenue for Airport Hotels

This article focuses on parking amenities at airport hotels. The clients served by these economy hotels, which are located close to airport facilities, typically are interested in very short, efficient, and inexpensive accommodations. Shifts in airline traffic balance between business and leisure travel due to the September 11 terrorist attacks in the caused these hotels to shift a number of the amenities offered. One such developed amenity is Park and Stay, where a leisure traveler can park their vehicle at a given hotel, then be driven through a service to their outbound airport while leaving their vehicle parked at the hotel for the duration of their travels. This allows customers to use secondary airports that are often utilized by low-cost carrier (LCC) airlines. A number of case examples are presented.
