Tennessee Long-Range Transportation Plan: Transportation System Performance Measures
The purpose of this report is to evaluate the effectiveness of the transportation system and associated services that are delivered to the people of Tennessee. This evaluation will be done within the context of the statewide planning process and the relationship of performance measures to the Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) goals and objectives. The report highlights the purposes of transportation system performance measures and identifies key measures to be used to periodically evaluate the state’s performance in implementing its modal programs and specific transportation projects. The recommended TDOT transportation system performance measures are based on research conducted on the current processes used by TDOT to monitor performance, peer state performance measurement systems, public comments, and the “state of the practice” in transportation system performance measurement.
