ASPECTS OF ROAD MAINTENANCE

ASPECTEN VON WEGONDERHOUD

On the occasion of the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the State Road Laboratory a symposium was held on the 2nd September 1977. The theme of this symposium was road maintenance. The papers that were presented by experts from Belgium, France, Great Britain, the German Federal Republic and the Netherlands have been collected in this publication. Each speaker had been requested to discuss road maintenance in his own country, emphasizing the organisational and the financial aspects. Papers presented were: Introduction (Tops, JW); The English road system and its maintenance (Spearing, GD; Methods, organisation and budget planning in pavement maintenance-General aspects in the Federal Republic of Germany (Nakkel, E); General policy for road maintenance in France (Chantereau, JC); and Road maintenance in the Netherlands (Neeteson, JP). /TRRL/
