Indicators of Longitudinal Road Unevenness and Their Mutual Relationships
This paper presents an overview of indicators that are currently used to measure longitudinal road unevenness or roughness. It examines the power spectral density (PSD) with its unevenness index and waviness parameters, the International Roughness Index (IRI), and three-band indicators (TBI) or triads. The relationships between the PSD parameters and the other indicators are discussed. Arguments supporting the importance of waviness as an indicator of road unevenness are presented.
