Delivering walking environments: City of Port Phillip case study
This paper outlines the journey the City of Port Phillip has embarked on over the past six years in developing and managing the change towards the provision of a truly sustainable transport service. The paper is structured on the three key themes that were instrumental in the City moving towards this future: 1. political commitment to policy; 2. framework to deliver policy; 3. funding mechanisms. A number of examples consisting of walking and pedestrian related outcomes delivered during the past few years are also highlighted.
