EXPERIMENTS WITH A BACKSCATTER LASER DOPPLER VELOCIMETER IN A SHIP MODEL BASIN
Experiments in a water basin show that instantaneous flow velocities around ship models can be measured by a backscatter laser Doppler system. A 2 Watt Argon ion laser was used for this purpose. Real-time signal processing was performed by a frequency tracker and by a digital transient recorder.
