EMISSIONS INVENTORY FOR THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA
A summary of the emissions inventory for the State of South Carolina is presented. Point source data required for the preparation of the inventory were obtained from questionnaires distributed by the State Agency and follow-up contacts with individual sources. The data were transferred to prepared computer load sheets and processed. Area source data were obtained from various Governmental Agencies and by personal contact with knowledgeable individuals. This information was also computer processed. All emissions are summarized in tabular form for each region and gridded area. Charts have been prepared to illustrate major sources of each pollutant. These sources included coal, fuel oil, and natural gas boilers, used in residential, commercial, and industrial areas, open buring, incineration, solvent evaporation, vessels, railroads, diesels, residential heating, gasoline vehicles, air craft, dumps, electric power plants, mineral products, and wood fires. Particulates, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, sulfur, and ash were listed. (Author Abstract Modified)
