New Jersey Relic Will Be Restored to Former Glory

In this article the author covers the restoration of the Hoboken Ferry Terminal on the Hudson River, a project that is projected to cost $115 million over the course of three phases. New Jersey Transit is handling the reconstruction after the terminal’s 100 years of diminished use due to the rise of automobiles. Among the projects involved in the restoration are the replacement of the waiting room, installing new steel piles, replacing copper ornamentation, and installing lights around the slips. A replica clock tower will also be constructed for the project. The clock tower is being constructed for $5 million will display a large LED sign of the word “Lackawanna,” a tribute to the terminal’s historical service of the Lackawanna Railroad.
