Spain Launches Massive Investment Programme
High-speed rail network development is being invested in more heavily by Spain than by any other country in the world. Implementation responsibility falls on Adif, Spain's new track authority. The author examines Adif's activities and includes discussion with its current president, Antonio Gonzalez Marin. Investment-related economics, use of the European Train Control System, and anticipated projects are among topics included in the article. A box details continuing state ownership of Adif.
