Evaluating and Optimizing Dowel Bar Alignment. Concrete Pavement Research and Technology Special Report
This publication presents a concrete pavement research and technology special report on dowel bar alignment. This publication addresses two issues based on a recent field measurement study. The two questions addressed include: What quality of dowel bar alignment is routinely achieved in typical concrete pavement construction? Is there a difference in quality of dowel bar alignment when baskets are used to place the dowel bars as compared to those placed using DBIs? The publication provides research data, key findings, a case study on I-20 in Georgia, and conclusions.
