Report for reclaimed materials project: brick use interstate

Research undertaken for Stage 1 of the "Feasibility into Using Reclaimed Materials in Road Construction Activities Project" identified that there may be the potential for a greater use of brick material in road construction activities. The potential for the use of increased brick content was based on the use of increased brick content in road construction activities in other states of Australia and from discussions with suppliers of materials. The information presented below provides details on the specifications in other states in Australia where an increased content of brick material is allowed in comparison with the VicRoads specifications. This report has been prepared for the purpose of providing VicRoads with information on the specifications used in other states of Australia in relation to brick use in road construction activities.
