Double Your Striping Productivity

This article describes how contractors can significantly increase their striping productivity by motorizing their walk-behind stripers. The striper can be equipped with a tractor add-on that allows the worker to drive around the parking lot. The riding machine allows the operator to save time between striping lanes by enabling him to back up or make a circle to come onto the next line quickly. It also reduces worker fatigue. Estimates show a productivity gain of 33-40% over conventional walk-behind stripers. Although driver add-ons are the most common type of this equipment, one manufacturer has introduced a one-unit machine that combines a striper with a riding lawn mower.
