Features of Contact Wire Wear and Measures for Local Wear on Simple Catenary with Copper-Steel Contact Wire
This paper describes investigation of wear on the copper-steel contact wire (CS simple catenary) overhead contact lines of the high-speed Shinkansen rail lines. Contact wire wear was observed at overlaps of the overhead contact line and at stations that were not provided with passing tracks. Using simulation results, the authors verified the reasons that wear had occurred and proposed optimal configurations as measures for preventing wear.
