RECYCLING OF ROAD MATERIALS UPDATE (2004-2007)

This issue of Current Topics includes over 75 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the use of recycled materials in the construction of bituminous and concrete roads. While the main emphasis is on recycled road construction materials, some items have been included on a wide range of other waste materials such as rubber, glass, demolition debris and power station waste, which have been used in road construction in many parts of the world. The focus of the articles is on the performance and testing of the recycled materials, mix design and specifications and economic and energy saving issues. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 2004 and 2007. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
