Asphalt recycling
This document has been prepared as part of a series of reports supporting the Austroads Guide to Pavement Technology, Part 4B Asphalt, to provide information on asphalt recycling. The document includes sections dealing with the suitability of materials for incorporation into a recycled asphalt and discusses the usual materials commonly incorporated into asphalt, including reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), crumbed rubber, various waste material streams from foundries, ore recovery plants, etc. The processes involved in obtaining a suitable outcome are discussed and include construction considerations and compaction techniques. Curing, if appropriate, is also dealt with. (a)
