AUTO-RESTRICTED ZONES: THE MYTHS AND THE REALITIES
Current worldwide interest in auto-restricted zones is reflected in the numerous installations in Europe, Asia, and North America. The transportation engineer has been deeply involved in many of these, but implementation has frequently led to conflicts among professionals with respect to goals. Many problems could be minimized with a full understanding of the objectives and prerequisites of a successful program. The paper explores the subject in terms of different viewpoints and concepts and suggests methods by which all aspects are fully considered.
