E-Cabs in Our Future
This article provides a look at the oldest continuously operated personal rapid transit (PRT) system, which runs on the campus of West Virginia University as a demonstration project. The unique advantages of PRT systems are detailed, including much more flexibility in how stations are spaced and located. The Morgantown PRTs have computer systems that were upgraded in the 1990s, and work is underway on upgrading vehicle controls. A chart lists the PRT operating statistics. Ridership levels seem almost directly proportional to enrollment.
