Evaluation of Advanced Pedestrian Detection Devices (APDDs) for School Buses - Phase 1
A theoretical evaluation grid to quantify the performance of detection devices. Laboratory, closed-track and road testing procedures were also developed. The proposed laboratory testing procedure emphasized the difficulty of devising universal tests for all types of safety devices. The report also contains a user’s guide to facilitate use of the evaluation grid.
