APPLICATION OF THE CITY CENTRE TRAFFIC CAPACITY CONCEPT IN TRAFFIC FORECASTING
The concept of traffic capacity of the city has been developed at the same time as the widespread reconsideration of transportation planning goals and objectives. Two of the possible applications of the concept of area traffic are: (1) in the search for ideal development of the city centre using the environmental traffic capacity of the area and (2) in developing an "area traffic capacity restraint" model to be used in traffic forecasting. The latter approach is adopted and described in detail. /TRRL/
