The author points out, using results of radar counts on four different locations and road types, that as far as speed is concerned, the character of the road is more important to car drivers than legal speed restrictions. The results may be used in discussion concerning the enforcement of speed limits in the Netherlands, although the results are considered to be merely indicative. /TRRL/
