Trains Set to Benefit from Technical Advances
The International Union of Railways (UIC) and Korea Railroad (Korail) hosted the Rolling Stock Technology conference in Seoul, Korea on October 17-20, 2006. Insights into future train and traction developments were shared by firms such as JR East (Japan), Rotem (Korea), Jacobs (USA), and Korail. Concepts discussed included energy storage, simplification through technology and design, and using a holistic life cycle approach to planning.
